Certification
Certified Resource Specialist
(CRS), Certified Information and Referral Specialist (CIRS),
Certified Information and Referral Specialist - Aging (CIRS-A) are
professional credentials awarded internationally by the
Alliance of Information & Referral
Systems (AIRS)
to individuals who successfully complete the
certification program and examination for Information & Referral
Specialists. It is an acknowledgment of demonstrated competence in
the field of Information & Referral.
The AIRS Certification Program is
based on established standards for the field of Information &
Referral. The program identifies specific competencies and related
performance criteria which describe the knowledge, skills,
attitudes, and work-related behaviors needed by I&R and Resource
Specialists to successfully execute their duties.
NYS AIRS provides at least one testing date each year for individuals
interested in the Certification. Check the Events section for the
date and location.
