About NYS AIRS

The New York State Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (NYS AIRS) is committed to ensuring that all New Yorkers have access to quality human service information. In this time of budget constraints coupled with welfare reform, people need information about Information & Referral (I&R), social services, health care, and other community programs available to them. Without access to this information, many situations become worse, frustrations grow, people respond in any number of negative ways and our communities suffer the consequences both financially and emotionally. I&R provides a means for people to locate and access the services they need; identifies gaps in the community’s service system; and advocates for additional resources to fill those gaps.

NYS AIRS is a statewide association of agencies and individuals committed to providing quality Information & Referral Services. Our members include independent not-for-profits, individuals, governmental programs, United Ways, American Red Cross Chapters, crisis hotlines, libraries, military service centers, senior services, child and adolescent services, religious charities, multi-service organizations and other agencies.

AIRSNYS AIRS is a regional affiliate of the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (AIRS).
