NYS AIRS MembershipInformation & Referral services come in many forms. Human service workers, librarians, and others play an important role in helping people locate social and health services. Hundreds of providers work independently, but rarely collaboratively, to meet community needs. In an environment of decreasing resources and increasing demands, I&R professionals can maximize their outcomes by working together. I&R is a key component of the modern social-service delivery system. Keeping your I&R services on the cutting edge requires knowledge of social work skills, changing entitlements and resources, taxonomy, technology, marketing, and funding sources. Day-to-day work demands leave us with little time or opportunity to network with each other and enhance our skills. NYS AIRS provides its members with diverse ways to network, recharge, meet other I&R providers, and learn. Members work in all types of services and represent all levels of workers from online specialists to supervisors and program directors.
